Positive: The view is spectacular! The living space is bright and the view through the windows is just lovely. A convivial dining setting indoor too.

Negative: It felt as if there was a lot of little improvements that could be made pretty much in every room. It felt a bit unloved, as if nothing had been done for years to make it comfortable for guests paying a high price to rent it. For example the beds downstairs seemed old and were very uncomfortable. Mattress protectors were torn and stained in places. Bedding provided (doonas, pillows) was average - we didn’t risk it and brought our own as well as all linen (which was understood). Sponges and dish brushes looked years old! Yet there was an expectation to clean oven, stove and entire sink area with minimal supplies. The wood on the decking was also coming up in some places so needs to be nailed back down or replaced. The communication from the management company was generally very impersonal, borderline threatening regarding check out time, rubbish and cleaning inside and BBQ. We did not feel like valued guests. The rubbish arrangement was not clear at all, so I contacted management to ask for help. This is the message I received: “where are u staying. Which suburb. If you google the address on the Mornington council website it will give u the info you need.” (it was not signed). However the property is nowhere near the Mornington Peninsula! 🤷‍♀️ It is in a remote part of South Gippsland with very different waste management arrangements to suburbs. The Booking.com listing and information provided by Getaway was not clear either especially regarding the need to bring all bed linen, towels and tea towels.

Summary: Great view and a beautiful beach for a holiday, but property overpriced for what it is and needs some TLC.
