Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The location is good, surrounded by rainforest and the cabin is so close to being good. The bathroom is nice, they have tried to appoint the kitchen with utensils and included things like games. Driveway was much better than we expected it to be. Unfortunately the hosts have tried but missed the mark on a few things.

Negative: We did ring the real estate twice, but both times they were shut and it said if it was an emergency we could contact the after hours number but none of our problems were emergencies so we left it. Perhaps if they want regular communication from guests, that message should be changed. -the dishwasher is broken and full of old mouldy utensils. -the stove flint didn't work so needed matches or lighter to use but of course there was neither in the cabin. (It did have a fire blanket and extinguisher) -the water is brown/black and tastes strange like the gutters haven't been cleaned in a long time. (We have tank water at home so it wasn’t that) -the beds are very hard, could be fixed with a nice mattress topper or new mattresses. -under the beds is filthy. -the floors desperately need mopping. -the curtains don’t fully close and wouldn’t keep out moonlight let alone sunlight. -there are no blinds/curtains in main area - we were invited to use the verandah of the bigger cabin and BBQ but the outdoor area was very dusty/cobwebby and the BBQ is gross and rusty. -there were only 2 butter knives in the kitchen. - crockery is mismatched (only 2 bowls) -no drinking glasses, just wine glasses. -non-stick cookware is very scratched, not good for use.

Summary: A cabin with lots of potential but the hosts need to complete some work on the amenities.
